1959 CHRIS CRAFT SILVER ARROW 050

YNOT Yachts has begun the restoration of a 1959 Chirs Craft Silver Arrow.  This Silver Arrow, hull no. 050 was shipped to Winther Bros. Inc. in Fresno, California on January 20, 1959 and was powered by a 185 horsepower Chris-Craft 283 V8.

Hull no. 050 was a California boat until the early 1990's when it was purchased by a gentleman from Hot Springs, Arkansas.  Following some minor bottom work, hull no. 050 spent several years on Lake Hamilton in a slip next to Silver Arrow 012.  In 2004 Silver Arrow 050 was sold to a gentlemen from Miami, Florida who used the boat regularly for several years until deciding to begin a restoration on the boat.

The restoration of Silver Arrow 050 began in 2009 as the Miami owner had the hull sides and decks prepped for new paint, the engine rebuilt and all upholstered pieces reupholstered before deciding to offer the boat for sale.

Silver Arrow 050 was purchased and transported to Pittsburgh in March 2011 where a survey of the hull and parts was completed.  After removing all debris from the boat it was placed in storage until early 2012 when YNOT Yachts resumed the restoration.

As of March 2012, most of the bottom frames and planking have been replaced.  050 is waiting for the final planks to go on before fairing of the hull can commence.

Silver Arrow will be restored to concours standards and is expected to be re-launched in Summer 2012.

Please check back, photos will be updated as the restoration progresses.
