CONSTRUCTION

Framework

Apron, Chine, Frames, Stringers, Sheer, Stem and Transom were constructed from Sapele/African Mahogany.  The frames are gusseted on both sides to the knees with 12 mm Okoume Marine Plywood BS1088, fastened with plastic staples and epoxy.

Bottom/Sides ¾" Thick

Constructed with four layers of diagonal and longitudinal Okoume Marine Plywood BS1088 along with one layer of 10 oz. E-glass (bottom only), one layer of 5 oz. Kevlar and one layer of 6 oz. E-glass set in epoxy and fastened with plastic staples. The perimeters nailed with barbed silicone bronze nails.

Fore Deck 5/8" Thick

Constructed with one layer of longitudinal red cedar long spline joint and two layers of diagonal and longitudinal Okoume Marine Plywood BS1088, two layers of 5 oz. E-glass set in epoxy and fastened with plastic staples. The perimeters nailed with barbed silicone bronze nails.

Aft Deck ½" Thick

Constructed with one layer of longitudinal Okoume Marine Plywood BS 1088 and one layer of 5 oz. E-glass, followed with ¼" of Burmese Teak, all layers set in epoxy.

Sole ¾" Thick

Constructed with four layers - two layers of Okoume Marine Plywood BS 1088, ¼" of core-cell foam and ¼" of vertical grain Burmese teak, set in epoxy.  The removable sole is secured with stainless quarter-turn fasteners.

Sole Framework 2" x 2"

Composite construction with Okoume Marine Plywood BS1088, Core-cell foam and Mahogany, set in epoxy and fastened with plastic staples.

FINISHING

Paint

The hull received numerous coats of AWLGRIP epoxy primer base, followed by four coats of AWLGRIP polyester urethane topcoat, semi-gloss Stark White for the fore deck and topsides, gloss Claret for the bottom.

The bilge and interior behind the teak received numerous coats of AWLGRIP epoxy primer base, followed by two coats of AWLGRIP polyester urethane topcoat.

Brightwork

The Burmese teak was finished using Smiths CPES as a priming first coat (2 – 3 coats were applied), followed with three coats of AWLSPAR Varnish and 10 coats of AWL-BRITE PLUS Clear Urethane. The brightwork in the cabin was finished in semi-gloss.

Hardware

All original hardware was re-chromed using a triple coat chrome process. A new stainless cutwater was fabricated with integrated bow-eye for trailering ease.

Exhaust

To achieve quiet operation two CENTEK Vernatone MkII mufflers were installed.  Shieldsflex and Shieldsaust exhaust hose was used, all connections are double clamped with T-bolt clamps.  The exhaust tips are flush mount 4" polished stainless with internal flanges.

CONTROLS & SYSTEMS

Gauges

The original Chris Craft gauges were restored and adapted to include electronic internals.  All engine functions are also provided on the Simrad Navigation unit and Murphy Powerview display concealed behind a teak panel to the right of the helm.

Throttle

A Kobelt Model 2046 Single Lever Control Head was modified to replicate the design of the original Chris Craft throttle lever, Teleflex TFXtreme cables were used.

Sound Insulation

2lb/ft, sq 2 in Soundown vinyl foam insulation with neoprene gaskets

Engine Box Lifts

Two gas struts lift each half of the engine box.

Electrical

Surpasses the requirements of the NMMA Standards, ABYC Standards and the National Electrical Code.

All wire and cable, regardless of applied voltage is U.L. listed to 300 volts or more (often to 600 volts) to provide greater insulating protection. All wire is tin-coated (to prevent corrosion) stranded copper (for improved flexibility) and sealed in an insulated jacket.

Each wire is a homerun and terminated with an insulated solder-less crimp-on ANCOR connector. Insulated ring or captive spade type terminators were used.

A dual selectable battery system is employed using the OPTIMA Blue Top Deep Cycle 12 DC Batteries. 100% back up battery power is provided.

Audio

A complete Clarion Marine Audio system was installed with waterproof head unit, auxiliary remote, power amplifier, subwoofer and 6 Infinity Marine speakers.
